About us
Kámen Zbraslav > About us
KÁMEN Zbraslav was established in 1994 by transforming the Zbraslav quarry, a part of the former national enterprise Středokáman Praha, specialising in quarrying rock and gravel sand.
We currently run five quarries (Zbraslav, Sýkořice, Všestary, Bělice and Dobkovičky) and three gravel sand quarries (Uhy, Ledčice and Mohelnice).
KÁMEN Zbraslav bought MPC, which runs the Račiněves gravel sand quarry. By establishing a joint venture with Českomoravské štěrkovny in 2002, KÁMEN Zbraslav acquired a 50% interest in Vltavské štěrkopískovny (the Zálezlice gravel sand quarry situated approximately 30 km north of Prague), Brněnské písky (the Bratčice gravel sand quarry situated south of Brno), and Pískovny Morava (the Smolín gravel sand quarry situated south of Brno).
Since 2003 KÁMEN Zbraslav has held a 100 % share in Lomy, a company running the following rock quarries near Brno: Předkláštěří, Želešice and Dolní Kounice.
The total annual production of KÁMEN Zbraslav and its subsidiaries amounts to an aggregate of nearly seven million tonnes. This figure puts KÁMEN Zbraslav among the largest agreggate producers in the Czech Republic. We do business with customers throughout the Czech Republic and our supplies are irreplaceable for the production of concrete and bituminous mixtures. The wide range of applications for these basic buildilng materials, along with the high quality of our supplies, is a guarantee of continuous demand by building companies.
In 1997 KÁMEN Zbraslav extended its business to transportation of concrete mixes. Currently, we run six concrete plants: four situated in Prague (Zbraslav, Kněževes, Dolní Měcholupy and Stodůlky) and two in northern Moravia (Paskov and Ostrava).
Detailed information about our plants, product prices, and references can be found on other pages.
The company is entered in the Commercial Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague, Section C, File 10320.
