Production of Concrete
Kámen Zbraslav > Production of Concrete
Concrete is a basic building material. It is created by mixing cement, fine and coarse aggregate, water, admixtures, and additives. Using a wide range of additives, concrete can obtain exceptional properties. These may then be used to match the requirements of the given construction, according to structure type, position and load.
The whole process of concrete production at our plants has been subject to stringent sanitary and environmental rules. This is demonstrated by the 2004 Environmentally friendly Concrete Plant award for the plant in Dolní Měcholupy.

Laboratory
The laboratory carries out tests on concrete in compliance with the valid standards ČSN EN 206-1 'Concrete - Part 1: Specification, performance, production and conformity', TN SVB ČR 01-2004 'Common hydrotechnical concrete', ČSN 736123-1 'Road building - Concrete pavements', ČSN 73 6126-1 'Road building - Unbound courses', and ČSN 73 6124 'Road building. Aggregates bound with hydraulic binder'.
With respect to the above standards, control tests must encompass tests on products from all of our concrete plants. The laboratory has all the equipment necessary in order to carry out the required range of the basic tests. This equipment includes presses (ELLE 3000 kN, Stress test) to determine concrete strength, fresh mixture consistency measuring equipment, vibrating tables to compact samples, equipment to determine fresh mix air content, and all necessary mould samples.
